We are celebrating 30 Years in business at SCS Interiors TODAY!
Here's a bit of history for you:
SCS Interiors began in 1989 when David Hudyma purchased Brigham Upholstery, a car and commercial upholstery company located in the East end of Duluth. Brigham Upholstery was well-known for high quality work and we have continued in this tradition. David’s son, Mike, joined the Company in 1991 and learned the business from the ground up by working in all aspects of the company.
In the late 1990s, Cirrus Aircraft was a major customer for Brigham Upholstery. As a reflection of the impact of the aircraft orders, the name Brigham Upholstery was changed to SCS Aircraft Interiors and we moved to a new location on Venture Avenue in the Airpark. Business continued to grow and the Venture Avenue space became tight for the production demand, so a brand new 20,000 square foot building was built on Prosperity Road, just down the street from the Venture Avenue location. SCS Aircraft Interiors moved into the new home in January 2009.
A strategic decision was made in 2010 to change the company’s name again - this time to SCS Interiors and to actively expand the company’s business lines to include Aerospace, Transportation, Commercial, and Other Services. SCS Interiors offers upholstered seat covers, carpet and custom accessories for personal aircraft along with similar products for all modes of transportation. Commercial applications include seating in restaurants, theaters, convention centers, lecture halls, customer waiting areas, as well as recovering office dividers. High speed cutting and contract sewing are two of the services often requested that we can handle a variety of scales. SCS currently employs 48 individuals with a few more hires in the near future.
Mike & Dave Hudyma are thrilled to have been in business for the last 30 years and are eternally thankful to their customers and employees who have been with them on this journey.
